Rapid Rims (OEM only)

The Rapid rim is available only as an OEM product, found on some of the best bikes in the world. We created the Rapid exclusively for our bike manufacturing partners to offer our Bead Socket Technology at a more affordable price level.

In construction, the Rapid is most similar to the Crest aftermarket rim, though wider. Its outside-to-outside width is 25mm, slightly wider even than the Arch EX rim, though the rim interior width remains 21mm, the same as both the Crest and the Arch EX. Unlike the welded seam of most ZTR rims, the Rapid is constructed with an sleeved method that's very strong but less labor-intensive to manufacture. The Rapid is also the only Stan's NoTubes rim to feature eyeleted spoke holes. Eyelets add only a small amount of weight, but allow for consistent manufacturing that costs a bit less than our traditional drilled spoke hole rims.

As a true BST rim, the Rapid can be easily converted for tubeless use. One layer of 21mm wide yellow tape (25mm will also work) and 35mm valve stems are recommended for converting the Rapid to run without a tube.

We don't stock or sell this rim ourselves. The Rapid is available only from select bicycle manufacturers. It's offered in both black anodized and silver anodized finishes. We make this rim in a 405g 26" version, a 425g 27.5"/650b version and a 455g 29er version (542mm, 566mm and 606mm ERDs, respectively). It's available in both 28-hole and 32-hole drillings. We're very happy to partner with these brands to bring true Bead Socket Technology to more riders.
